A little history...
The slogan “Rudyize Your Home” was associated with the Rudy furnace and home-heating systems, a brand promoted in the early decades of the 20th century as a modern, economical way to heat houses. Period advertisements described Rudy equipment as unusually durable and efficient, emphasizing heavy castings, tight-fitting doors, large heat-delivery casings, and the ability to burn different types of fuel. Dealers used the term “Rudyized” to describe a home that was satisfactorily and economically heated, turning the company name into a verb much like the slogan shown in your image.
By the 1920s and 1930s, Rudy systems were being sold through local plumbing, heating, and hardware dealers across the Midwest. Advertising evolved from simple warm-air furnaces to broader Rudy air-conditioning and heating systems, including coal-, oil-, and gas-fired equipment designed to keep household air cleaner while reducing fuel and maintenance costs. The surviving advertisements show that Rudy competed by stressing fuel economy, long service life, and improved indoor comfort—selling homeowners not just a furnace, but the idea of having their entire house professionally “Rudyized.”
